Cargill Shared Services has an opportunity available for a Food Safety Analyst, located in Wichita, KS. This is a team based position which requires the handling of highly confidential information. Laboratory results are reviewed, compared to production records, and it is determined if product should be released for shipping or held under retention. Product is released in plant floor systems and product disposition is communicated by email to appropriate distribution lists. Decisions and processes handled in the disposition of product are documented and all paperwork is reviewed a second time. All data, paperwork trail and documentations are combined and electronically filed.)

Team members must be flexible to work rotating hours, cover vacations, and cover when someone is ill. Test and hold rotations are from Monday through Sunday. There are 2 shifts – 1st shift is approximately 5:00 am to 5:00 pm and 2nd shift is from approximately 5:00 pm to 5:00 am. Each employee works (4) 10 hour days a week.

Principal Accountabilities:

·         30% - Analyze laboratory results for product disposition

·         30% - Communicate product disposition and release product in plant floor systems depending on result

·         20% - Follow detailed procedures to help in decision making processes and document critical information

·         10% - Investigate plant or lab processes that are out of control causing product to remain on hold

·         10% - Verify other’s releases and document your verification




·         High School Diploma or Equivalent

·         Must have a minimum of one (1) year experience working in an office environment

·         Must have the ability to work remotely from a home office

·         Must be willing to work 4, 10 hour days on a rotating schedule Monday – Sunday, between the hours of 4 pm – 5 am

·         Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

·         Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy

·         Demonstrated team work experience

·         Demonstrated analytical work experience

·         Strong decision making skills

·         Manage details in a fast paced environment

·         Recognize and respond to data/information errors quickly


·         Some college coursework

·         Technical service experience

·         Food safety/regulatory experience

·         Laboratory experience

·         Plant Floor System (PFS) knowledge

·         XLGO/CBS Knowledge
