Job Description:

This role will provide oversight, management, and tactical support for Quality Initiatives across the Meat Systems and Flavours Enterprise. This role will partner with plant and business unit leadership providing expertise and support focused around Customer Quality, Food Safety and Operations Quality.This position requires 50-75% travel.


This position reports directly to the Director of Quality Assurance – Meat Systems and Flavours.

Accountabilities
• Lead and provide support for quality initiatives and special projects across the Business Unit. Year one deliverables for this role include:
o Complaint reduction through minimizing variability and targeted Cpk implementation.
o Support current allergen control programs and efforts, drive continuous improvement, and help with mitigating risk.
o Work with the plants to implement the Kerry Global HACCP Standard, mitigate risk, and reduce food safety occurrences.
• Liaise with customers, operations, Regulatory, R&D, Purchasing to ensure product specifications are accurate, consistent with supply, and capable of delivering intended flavor and functionality at all supply chain phases.
• Collaborate with operations to standardize sampling and testing programs for inbound materials, WIP, finished goods and COAs.
• Provide support for investigations into product issues and production failures.
• Provide expertise and support customer audit preparation and follow up.
• Other duties as assigned.

Authority
This position has the authority to observe and review quality activities in all Meat Systems and Flavours operations, R&D sensory activities and suppliers to Kerry with proper notification to senior management. The position has the authority to develop, implement and audit programs directly related to assigned projects.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in a Science based discipline.
• Qualified background in food chemistry, sensory, microbiology, food packaging systems and/or food engineering.
• 5+ years in Quality, R&D and/or Production Management experience in food industry.
• ASQ Quality Engineer certification or equivalent. Candidates may pursue this certification concurrently.
• Experience with Quality Systems, HACCP, SOPs, GMPs.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and socialize quality processes, policies and procedures.
• Practical experience with lean, SPC, Cpk
• Practical experience with Sensory Programs.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with sites to develop, implement and sustain continuous improvement and change management initiatives.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects.
• Strong interpersonal communication, coaching and conflict management skills.
