Position Overview
The Research and Development Department at Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc.
is looking to hire an entry levelAssociate Scientistwith a primary focus of supporting the
analytical laboratory - conducting food analytical testing of incoming
ingredients and products. The Associate Scientist will be responsible for
the timely testing of ingredient samples submitted for evaluation,
including safety, authenticity, quality and physical parameters, and for
sample and data management.
This person will also be assisting in other laboratory analyses in the
pursuit of overall operational efficiency, such as in the evaluation of
corporate quality and product development projects, and general
laboratory administration. Familiarity with standard sample preparation
protocols, general laboratory procedures and the operation of modern
laboratory instrumentation and associated data processing systems
including HPLC and IC is important.
Requirements
Minimum Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:
Bachelor?s degree in food science, chemistry or
related field and at least 1 year of food science/analytical laboratory
experience is required. Master?s
degree would be beneficial. Industry or food laboratory experience is a
benefit.
Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Word
and Excel. The ability to work well with all levels of the organization
from shop floor to senior management is mandatory. Statistical analysis
knowledge is an added benefit.

defined time and cost parameters.

functional management. Leading by example, follow proper procedures as
detailed in the operating guidelines and principles.
