Position Summary

Design and implementation of laboratory experiments to elucidate photochemical reactions in food and beverage systems and the effect of packaging materials; analysis and interpretation of experimental results; communication of project results and interpretation (oral, written skills) and preparation of reports for funding group(s), abstracts, manuscripts, and technical posters; supervising graduate and/or undergraduate researchers working on the project; assisting/contributing to proposal writing for seeking related funding opportunities; other responsibilities in support of research activities within laboratory group.  

Required Qualifications

MS with significant experience in preferred skill areas: analytical experience with HPLC, demonstrated experience in experimental design and statistical analyses, manuscript and proposal writing skills, supervisory and communication skills.  

Preferred Qualifications

PhD in food science, biochemistry, analytical chemistry or related fields.

Preferred Skills: analytical experience with HPLC, demonstrated experience in experimental design and statistical analyses, manuscript and proposal writing skills, supervisory and communication skills.

Additional preferred skills include:

-Demonstrated creativity, independence and high motivation
-Good communication skills.
-Strong work habits and the ability to work independently as well as with a research group
-Evidence of good project management and laboratory management skills
-Evidence of developing publications based on individual research
-Ability to work under limited supervision
-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel in the organization
