The Food Technologist I is
responsible for bench work, prototype preparation, and flavor work
including some aspects of formulation. The Food Technologist I will perform
objective sensory evaluations routinely and will frequently administer
•Perform bench preparation of
prototypes and pilots with supervision.
•Make adjustments to formulas in Excel and on the bench and evaluate
•Conduct sensory evaluations with supervision.
•Set up shelf life evaluations as specified.
•Support filling of Product Requests to the Clinic as directed by upper
Prod Dev management.
•Access information in Metagenics Inventory
System (Finesse) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) on an
as needed basis.
•Access information in Genesis nutritional software as projects require.
•Communicate with Purchasing, QC and Manufacturing regarding specific
issues as directed by upper Prod Dev management.
•Order lab supplies (raw materials, disposable items, etc.) and support
general laboratory upkeep and organization.
•Order raw material samples and gather information through vendor
•Receive and log incoming and outgoing samples
•Bachelors Degree in Food Science
or related field
