QUALITY MANAGER - Hot Mama's Foods -
Gourmet food manufacturer is looking for an experienced professional to assume responsibility for food safety and quality including ensuring compliance with defined policies and procedures including regulatory, GMPís, HACCP, and company SOPís.
Develops and implements food safety systems to ensure that quality standards are achieved and maintained. Develops specifications for food safety programs to comply with all regulatory and 3rd party standards. Assesses processes in production, sanitation, and warehouse to assure compliance. Maintains all required documentation per established guidelines. Manages 3rd party audit process including USDA, FDA, Organic, Kosher, and select independent auditors
Supports product introduction/changes process. Manages all nutrition and ingredient labeling for new and existing products ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. Establishes and monitors shelf life. Manages new ingredients and new vendor approval process. Develops production documents and specifications. Maintains product history.
Develops sanitation departmental goals. Manages sanitation functions to ensure that goals are achieved in a timely fashion. Insures that daily sanitation activities are conducted in accordance with standards. Conducts testing to evaluate effectiveness of sanitation process and performs internal GMP and housekeeping audits. Directs efforts to improve conditions.
Develops, monitors, and improves measurement factors for controlling and reducing conditions and behaviors that lead to non-conforming products and quality concerns. Determines corrective actions and disposition working closely with Purchasing Manager and Product Development as needed.
Manages Quality Technicians and Sanitation crew to assure safe, high quality, and efficient activity as defined through all job descriptions. Schedules sanitation employees on a weekly basis, responding to ongoing and emergency needs. Conducts reviews accordingly. Hires, fires, and adjusts compensation acceptable to established policies and procedures.
Manages new hire indoctrination training for all non-HR-related functions. Manages training program for quality and sanitation functions.
Must have an associates degree in microbiology or related field; a BA/BS is preferred. Must be HACCP certified. Computer knowledge including Windows and spreadsheets. Must have ability to efficiently manage time, and work independently or as a member of a team. Must be able to assess product visually and by smell, taste, and touch.
