PURPOSE: To ensure the integrity, safety, and quality of Driscoll’s product

JOB SUMMARY: In conjunction with the Food Safety Operations Manager, will manage the domestic and international regulatory compliance program with the support of the Food Safety Team. Responsibilities include the processing of grower pesticide use reports, the maintenance of Driscoll’s Chemical Application tracking database, coordination of laboratory assays, coordination of pesticide sampling program, and maintenance of Driscoll’s Export Lists. This position will also be responsible for the completion of special projects as assigned by the Food Safety Operations Manager including any tasks associated with both food safety and international regulatory affairs.

QUALIFICATION: Bachelor’s degree in an agricultural related field or equivalent experience. Candidate must be able to follow instructions precisely. Candidate must be able to perform in a high paced environment. Attention to detail is essential. Candidate must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Candidate must have the ability to deal effectively with Driscoll’s grower community. Candidate must possess good verbal and written communication skills, computer skills, Bilingual Spanish/English, and a valid driver’s license. Position requires moderate travel.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Procedures: Manage, source, and maintain current data related to domestic and international regulatory compliance. Maintain Driscoll’s regulatory databases, export lists, and processes to ensure regulatory compliance. Develop, implement, and execute procedures for the review and verification of export lists and Chemical Application Tracking database. Work with Driscoll’s partners and growers to develop and maintain the pesticide degradation rate database. Cross train with other members of the Food Safety Team and assist with departmental duties as needed.
Program Management: Work with the Food Safety Operations Manager on the coordination of the pesticide sampling program. With support of the Food Safety Team, manage the Regulatory Compliance Program and provide support to all team members in implementing the overall Food Safety program. Work with Food Safety Operations Manager and District Representatives to improve, implement, and execute pesticide use reporting and data entry procedures. Assist in the development and maintenance of the Driscoll’s export program. Work with IT to improve and develop systems and reports associated with regulatory compliance.
Advisor: Keep current with local and international pesticide registrations and regulations on all commodities in all growing regions. Disseminate regulatory information to all Driscoll’s growers, employees, and customers. Act as a key contact for regulatory information.
General: Ensures the security of Driscoll’s proprietary and confidential information and material. Follows Company policies and practices while representing Driscoll’s in an ethical and business-like manner. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
