Cargill's meat business, headquartered in Wichita, KS, is comprised of beef, pork, turkey, value added meats, case ready, distribution and feeder operations. Cargill's meat businesses employ approximately 35,000 worldwide with processing facilities and sales offices in the US, Canada, Australia, China, Honduras, Japan, Korea and Taiwan.

Cargill Meat Solutions has an opportunity available for a Quality Assurance Food Safety Superintendent. This position is responsible for: writing, revising, maintaining, implementing, auditing and scoring of plant HACCP food safety systems and other regulatory programs. This position is also a liaison between USDA/CFIA and the plant.

Accountabilities:

·         Maintain current GHP, SSOP, HACCP and pre-requisite plans and records

·         Coordinate daily food safety reporting

·         Implement and maintain corporate initiated changes

·         Food safety action/reporting including; incident investigations, corrective action, preventive measures and audit responses

·         Training in plant employees on food safety programs and regulatory changes

·         Manage sanitation and pest control HACCP team contracts and programs

·         Assist with development and validations plants for plant/line expansions

Qualifications

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Food Science, Biological Sciences or related field preferred.

· 1 year supervisory experience preferred

· Working knowledge of laboratory, SPC, and plant processes

· Knowledge of USDA/CFIA government standards in food safety

· Basic computer skills including spreadsheets and databases

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
