REQUIREMENTS: BS/BA in Food Science, Food Technology or
Nutrition required. 3+ years of innovative bench top product and program
development experience and capabilities. Ability to meet aggressive
deadlines. Nutritional or nutritional products background a plus. Knowledge
of FDA/FTC regulations. Solid, hands on, product development experience
working with nutritionally based supplements and/or functional foods is
ideal. May consider other food applications. There are a lot of flavor
companies in the area. Those working only with flavors are usually not of
Apply scientific principles in research, development, production,
technology, quality control, packaging and processing of nutritionally
designed foods/beverages and dietary supplements. Conduct basic nutrition
research for the development of programs to support product utilization.
Conduct bench top product development, taking products from original
concept to manufacturing and commercialization. Researches and develops
nutrition and product parameters for unique applications and new markets.
Evaluate raw materials and finished product provided by contract
manufacturers for product quality and process feasibility. Provide
evaluation and recommendation for product improvements by addressing
flavor, texture, nutritional value, convenience, composition and cost.
Recommend specific ingredient processes and packaging materials. Provide
technical support to current customer base.
