Assistant Professor of Food Science - Flushing, NY


Queens College s Department of Family, Nutrition & Exercise Sciences seeks a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2009 to teach undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in food science, food, and nutrition-related courses and research methods; develop a curriculum that includes the science of food preparation and its application to multiethnic cuisines; develop and conduct an active research program and seek extramural funding; serve on department and college committees; advise majors; and be committed to teaching a diverse body of urban students.

An earned doctorate in food science or related area is required. Candidates must have demonstrated research competence. RD and familiarity with diverse diets consumed in the United States plus teaching experience at the college level in courses using a foods lab are preferred.

Salary: $41,624 $71,974, based on qualifications and experience; excellent benefits.
