Job Description

DUTIES: -As a Quality Assurance/Food Safety Team Leader for dry food manufacturing facility, you will lead the Quality Assurance team to improve plant quality as they support Operations and Manufacturing Services in assuring company quality standards are met. -You will be responsible for Continuous Improvement of plant floor quality system, Training and standardization or quality policies and procedures, Food Safety Compliance, Cleaning/Sanitation, Communications. - Leads the Quality Assurance Team’s development through coaching, goal setting, and leading by example daily activity applying High Performance Work Systems (self-managing) principles. -Accountable and responsible for meeting or exceeding plant’s safety and quality KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). -Leads improvement in Consumer Complaints through analysis, reporting, process improvement implementation. -Leads internal GMP, quality standards, and systems audits for the facility and implement changes to close gaps. -Leads the Food Safety team and all food safety and sanitation activities for the plant. -Leads and coordinate the pest control inspections for plant areas. -Demonstrate ability to take initiatives and resolve sanitation issues. -Troubleshoot quality issues and oversees continuous improvement for operational and quality system improvements. -Ensures that the reporting of data and maintenance of records is documented. Also, that the interpretation of the data is correct and that the results are effectively communicated to appropriate individuals, including management. -Introduces non-analytical quality procedures to the plant and new personnel and is responsible for creating quality-related documentation that meets company guidelines and procedures. -Leads and monitors HACCP program in the facility. -Assists with execution and follow up of regulatory, internal and external audits (i.e. FDA, USDA, state, AIB, Corporate, ect.) -Resource for the suppliers/vendors certification process. -Serves as liaison between quality assurance and key stakeholders responsible for role modeling the CP Values and Principles of with Respect -Other job functions as assigned.

X-Factor: -BS degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science or other related field. -Minimum of 4 years in a food, feed or pet food manufacturing plant. -Minimum of 3 years food safety experience. -Minimum of 3 years laboratory experience outside of an academic setting. -Strong knowledge of Food Plant Manufacturing Processes, Quality Systems and Documentation, and Statistical Process Controls. -Excellent computer skills, including email, spreadsheet, and database management, and SAP. -Demonstrated performance of project management and time management skills. -Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. -Auditing and compliance Process, Vendor Certification and Chemical Analyses experience. -Certification in HACCP, GMP, Micro, Audits, ect. Preferred. -American Society for Quality certifications as CQT, CQM, or CQE also preferred.
