Job Title: Auditor, Food Safety Management System (Contractor Position)

In this position, you will be responsible for the following:
• Audit client company's food safety management systems for compliance with established standards, including ISO 22000 and other relevant standards
o Assist clients with questions relevant to the audit and/or certification process.
o Review food safety management system (FSMS) and quality system documentation.
o Verify and document evidence of compliance and non-compliance.
o Write comprehensive reports on the audit findings.
o Review audit results with coordinator and other assessment team members. Make presentations to clients and/or certification board concerning audit results, when requested.
o Assist with corrective action requirements
o Assist management in addressing any appeals relative to assessment.
o Coordinate activities with other assessment team members
• Provide consultation and/or training, both internally and externally, on related quality issues/topics, as needed.
o Technical writing and development of programs supporting the company.
o Participate in audit meetings and process.
• Provide management with updates on status of work, initiatives, and projects, as required
• Travel extensively, including overnight/multiple days, to various work-sites and client locations





Job Qualifications





The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

In-depth knowledge of auditing Food Safety Management Systems, demonstrated through a combination of education and experience
• Degree in food science, quality, or a related major
• 5+ years for food industry work experience
• 2+ years of 3rd party auditing industry experience in food safety/quality systems
• Must have completed lead auditor training for any FSMS standard (ISO22000, HACCP, ISO9001); ISO22000 desired, but will train if needed

• A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written
• Sound judgment, organization and analytical skills
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to document and report findings
• Ability to exercise effective time management skills in completion of assignments
• Ability to work well in an environment and react effectively in stressful situations
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office
• Ability to work varied and extended hours/days, as business dictates
• Must be willing and able to travel extensively
• Primarily domestic travel
• International travel may be needed (requires a passport)

• Physical dexterity to perform functions which are inherent to the position
• Mobility to travel by auto and airplane
