Every day, Kelly Scientific Resources (KSR) connects scientific professionals with opportunities to advance their careers. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Control and Food Safety Manager. This is a temp to hire position. The salary range for the position is 45-50K annually.

Responsibilities and prospects for professional growth include:

 

 

  • To direct and coordinate the quality and food safety functions in all plants and establish technical controls and procedures to ensure that production of products meet established standards

 

 

  • Direct and coordinate the quality control and laboratory functions. This includes but not limited to:

 

 

    • Sampling, inspecting and grading of raw materials to ensure that all supplies and raw materials meet established standards

 

 

    • Ensure plant cleaning, sanitation and pest controls are in compliance with sanitation policies and procedures

 

 

    • Ensure proper storage and use of raw materials including lot traceability for all ingredients compliance documents from suppliers

 

 

    • HACCP plan maintenance and implementation of new critical control points to ensure compliance with FDA requirements

 

 

    • Evaluate microbiological testing & results

 

 

    • Conducting plant inspections and verifying GMPs

 

 

    • Develop Certificates of Analysis for products produced

 

 

    • Lead HACCP and Food Security team

 

 

    • Maintenance of Golden 100 compliance documents for customers

 

 

    • Kosher documentation maintenance

 

 

    • Maintain library of retained samples for use in traceability

 

 

    • Responsible for product labels and verifying the input of new labels

 

 

    • Responsible for performing mock recalls

 

 

 

Education and experience required:

 

 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food or Dairy Science

 

 

  • Experience with HACCP, preferably HACCP certified

 

 

  • -Quality Control Experience in an industrial manufacturing plant
