Description

Cargill Dressings, Sauces & Oils refines vegetable and tropical oils and animal fat for a wide range of food and nonfood manufacturers. We also make shortenings, frying oils, mayonnaise, dressings, and sauces for the foodservice industry.

The business operates seven oil refineries, five shortening and oil packaging plants, a mayonnaise production facility, a dressings plant and a culinary sauce facility, all of which are located in the United States. We also operate an edible oil refinery in Mexico.

Customers include major food manufacturers and quick-service and casual-dining restaurant chains. Dressings Sauces & Oils is integrated with Cargill's soybean crushing activities, which provide a reliable source of crude soybean oil for further processing.

Position Overview:

The plant superintendent is responsible for the overall operations of the FSO packaging operation including plant engagement, employee management and development, capital planning and execution, budget development and control, customer solutions, and overall business results. The plant superintendent is a key player in the development of the long term strategic development for the plant to achieve both BU strategic initiatives and excellent business results.

Create an engaging work environment through people development, training, coaching and performance review process- 25%

Oversee operations through the supervisory team to achieve plant performance metrics- 25%

Interact with functional leads/teams to achieve plant P&L results while maintaining good business balance- 20%

Work with external entities such as government, other businesses and customers to improve brand equity of Cargill- 15%

Perform BU assigned activities to achieve the overall business results- 15%

Qualifications

Required:

·         4 year degree in engineering/science with 8+ years industrial processing experience OR secondary level education with 10+ years industrial processing experience.

·         5+ years experience in oilseeds, or manufacturing, processing

·         Practiced knowledge of production management with ability to develop understanding of plant processes and operational needs

·         Team player, respectful and able to work independently or reach out for assistance when necessary

·         Demonstrated ability to independently develop complex technical plans

·         Demonstrated ability to work well with others or be independent when necessary

·         Demonstrated ability to prioritize activities to meet plant expectations and strategic objectives concurrently

·         Demonstrated ability to develop and execute capital projects

·         Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with multiple levels of the organization

·         Demonstrated ability to build employee engagement to improve plant results

·         Demonstrated ability to coach employees effectively for their development
