Director for a major food company in the greater Triad area of North
Carolina. This company is a
consistent leader in its field, and is highly respected for its high
quality goods and scope of products and services. Candidates with strong experience in the
food science industry will be considered for this great direct hire
opportunity. This is an excellent
opportunity for a Senior Scientist to advance in the industry and is very
hands-on in the R&D group.
Responsibilities:
-Direct
global R&D program and develop all formulations, ingredients and
specifications required for global product list
-Develop all
analytical and quality control metrics regarding product manufacturing
shelf life and storage
-Manage food
industry issues that affect nutritional, food safety and regulatory
compliance of global products
-Manage all
ingredient specifications and approvals whether purchased or manufactured
-Coordinate
& manage all Internal/Consumer sensory testing
-Review new
equipment innovation to ensure compliance with company standards
-Provide
leadership and vision for development of R&D staff
-Manage
departmental budget and capital expenditures
Essential
skills and Experience:
-M.S. or
Ph.D. in Food Science or related discipline
-10+ years related
experience with a successful major baked goods company
-Outstanding
communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
-Strong
research and development background in food science industry
-Knowledge of
raw material and ingredient functionality
