Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) is a global leader in independent,
third-party environmental certification based in Emeryville, CA. For more
than twenty-five years, SCS has developed internationally recognized
standards and certification programs that lead to environmental improvements,
social accountability and enhanced product performance. Our 23 Programs span
multiple industries including agricultural production, food processing and
handling, forestry, fisheries, flowers and plants, energy, green building,
and product manufacturing.
Scientific Certification Systems is currently seeking contract GlobalG.A.P. Inspectors to support the growth of our Food
Safety Program. The ideal candidate will already have experience as a GlobalG.A.P. Inspector. Experience with Organic, BRC,
and/or SQF will provide addition auditing opportunities. SCS will consider providing training to candidates who are
within three months of achieving GlobalG.A.P.
Inspector status.
Contract Auditors engage in a full range of auditing, including onsite,
document review and report writing. Contract Auditor positions are home based
but may require extensive travel. Amount of work will depend on seasonality
and industry demand.
Contract Auditors must be able to:
- Provide evidence of
certification to perform GlobalG.A.P. audits;
- Travel domestically for audits
as needed;
- Have demonstrated 2 years
formal training/education in agriculture;
- Demonstrated 2 years experience relevant to inspection, farming or
fruits and vegetables; and
- Have demonstrated experience
conducting food safety audits, Lead Auditor in ISO 9001 or 22000
preferred.
- Strong preference for
candidates who have completed formal Plant Protection, Fertilizer and
IPM training.
