Nestlé's Haverhill operation is home to Joseph's Gourmet Pasta & Buitoni frozen products. Our highly advanced, 150,000 square foot facility is equipped with the finest Italian ravioli- and pasta-making equipment that has the capacity to produce up to 100,000 pounds of pasta daily. We are currently seeking highly motivated Food Technologist to join our team!

The Food Technologist's role as an experienced professional in product development will be to initiate, plan and execute projects in the area of recipe formulation and process development. The Food Technologist works closely with other members of the research, product development, and quality community including interaction with senior members of the organization. They will regularly interface with other departments, acting as a key technological resource. Assuming a leadership role for complex technical projects, skills are honed through on-the-job experiences and assignments that provide exposure to the business categories, suppliers and the manufacturing network. Additionally, this team member will be expected to:

1. Understand, create, implement and modify product specifications, operating techniques and procedures
2. Plan, coordinate and conduct bench top, pilot plant and manufacturing tests
3. Create ingredient statements and label formats with Regulatory, QA, Sales and Operations
4. Actively participate as a member of plant start-ups teams
- Assess new/unique new ingredients or to find new uses for old ingredients
- Propose and coordinate the implementation of internal process improvements
5. Participate in team and departmental activities such as: sensory panels, meetings, committees and administrative obligations
6. Conducts analysis of results and translates into actionable recommendations.
- Acts as a key member of cross-functional teams, providing technical expertise
7. Maintain technical skills and personal improvements through appropriate training

The ideal candidate will possess the following:
1. BS or higher in Food Science/Engineering or related field
2. Minimum 1 year food industry experience
3. Advanced analytical skill, technical competence, and initiative
4. Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and deal effectively with a people from varying functions and levels
5. Thorough knowledge of the interrelationship of product, process and packaging
6. Basic knowledge of proteins, carbohydrates, hydrocolloids, and lipids functionality
7. Basic understanding of unit operations and engineering principles
8. Ability to plan and design well thought out testing procedures and anticipate next steps and potential problems
