My client is a global technology leader driving growth and innovation in the Health Sciences market to improve the quality of life. They are a leading provider of precision instrumentation, reagents and chemistries, software and services for a wide range of scientific and industrial laboratory applications.
As an integral member of the Food Safety Team, you will be responsible for determining and executing strategies and actions to build and drive the growth in the emerging and dynamic markets of food quality and safety.
This individual will interact extensively with cross-functional representatives and leaders within the organization to develop strategies, product pipelines and market penetration plans for this market segment.
The Food Segment Business Development Director will develop and execute the overall market and business strategy as follows:
Market and Product Planning – Develop strategic goals for the business segment on an ongoing basis. Monitor trends and regulations as they pertain to this market segment. Develop and lead the worldwide implementation of strategic and tactical product marketing plans annually or as required. Recommend and justify product development and business development programs. Set specific market objectives and goals. Develop cross business unit selling proposition platforms and develop marketing activities in concert with business unit, global marketing communications and market execution functions. Provide pricing/ product/ channel/ promotion strategy and recommendations. Develop new product commercialization plans for dedicated analyzers in collaboration with the appropriate supporting business unit(s). Communicate approved plans to the service and sales force and support the implementation. Act as Market Steward/Champion.
New Product Commercialization - Working with the Business Units, R&D, product development teams, and business development Leadership, define and drive new product ideas. Contribute to worldwide sales training and development programs and participate in the training effort as it relates to new products in these markets.
Market Intelligence - Maintain knowledge and expertise in relevant markets. Monitor competitive activity and market trends and recommend appropriate strategies and actions to pre-empt or respond. Comprehend target market and changing customer needs and wants; conduct market research necessary to make effective marketing mix decisions. Identify new and related market opportunities.
Strategic Partnerships/Alliances - Identify, develop and manage strategic partnerships with relevant customers, regulatory bodies and other commercial enterprises in the business segment. Leverage those relationships to increase PerkinElmer penetration, growth and position in the market place.

Compensation and Benefits:
