Food Safety Technician
Ainsworth Pet Nutrition- Dumas, AR



Overall Focus: To ensure that the Ainsworth facilities meet all Safe Quality Food
Standards

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES and ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS

Perform
all sanitation for the assigned area including facilities and equipment
following the Standard Operation Procedures and job instructions.

Inspect
assigned areas on a daily basis
Work
with Production, Maintenance and Warehouse leaders to address problems in
assigned areas
Perform
deep cleaning of all equipment
Ensure
that work is completed according to schedule

Perform
visual inspection of facility and ingredients for insect and rodent
activity.
Access
needed supplies and track what is used according to established methods
Be proactive
in detecting and correcting sanitation/maintenance problems including
writing maintenance reports as needed.
Maintain
constant communication with Food Safety Supervisor and other sanitation
crew members
Know
the whereabouts of tools at all time
Follow
all lock out/tag out procedures contacting maintenance leader or Food
Safety Supervisor for lockout support
Ensures that the Ainsworth Food
Safety program is adhered to

Ensures that all SOP’s are being
followed
Informs Corporate Sanitarian of
any food safety problems
Reports critical food safety
issues to A-Lead immediately
Alerts Corporate Sanitarian for
need to update or modify SOP’s based on needed changes to the processes

Adhere to all Standard Operating
Procedures and job instructions

Take corrective actions when
measures are out of specification
Take and document required
process, quality measures
Meet or exceed established
targets

Adhere to all Food Safety
procedures

Follow all GMP’s
Keep process areas clean and
neat
Reports all infestation and
rodent problems to the Corporate Sanitarian or Shift Supervisor
Ensure all buildings meet
sanitation requirements
Adheres to sanitation and
chemical usage procedures

Education/Training:
High School
