|
Currently, Schwan's Global Supply Chain, Inc. (Schwan’s), a
subsidiary of The Schwan Food Company, is
expanding our Safety department. If you’re a professional with interests
in the development, implementation, and maintenance of all safety and
OSHA compliance programs to reduce or eliminate industrial accidents and
health hazards. To develop both oral and written communication to enhance
programs and training. Perform evaluation and analysis to enhance or
create new programs to further reduce losses and/or to communicate loss

REQUIREMENTS
|
- Perform accident
investigations to determine cause and possible change to reduce the
potential for reoccurrence.
- Performs loss analysis and
evaluation to develop frequency and severity trends, including but
not limited to charts, graphs, and other studies for management use.
- Inspects all company
facilities for potential hazards, both property and casualty, to
reduce the potential of loss, to further define hazards, recommend improvements,
and monitor compliance to recommendations.
- Formulates and communicates
general safety practices to be followed by company personnel.
- Acts as consultant to other
departments regarding the design and use of equipment to reduce the
potential for loss.
- Co-develops training
programs with the Safety Trainer to enhance existing programs or to
develop new programs to further reduce the potential for loss.
- Consults with outside
agencies in establishing and maintaining safety programs.
- Chairs Safety Committee -
Documents meetings and creates agendas, Attends all meetings and
inspections, Monitors recommendations and compliance, Coordinates
new members (rotation system), Oversees Committee's communication.
- Monitors Emergency Action
Plan (EAP) for change, updates program, and oversees training.
- Oversees, monitors,
documents, and coordinates, Incentive and Award Program(s)
activities.
- Develop relationships, with
outside agencies (ASSE, AIB, OSHA, NSC, NTA, etc.) to enhance safety
programs.

QUALIFICATIONS
|
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Years of related experience: Five to seven years related
experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent written and verbal
communication skills. Computer experience, preferable in Microsoft Word, Excel
and/or ACCESS. Able to both work independently and well with others.
Working knowledge of USDA, OSHA, and other State or Federal program
requirements. Willing to obtain training in safety and medical related
programs. Work experience or education in Occupational Safety and Health,
Industrial Hygiene, and/or Industrial Safety and Health.
