Under limited supervision researches, conducts experiments, gathers data, develops preliminary findings and prepares written reports for the development of new products beginning at conception through successful commercialization. Selects appropriate methods, tests and procedures for testing. Develops project timelines, creates technical proposals and reports and makes recommendations.

  Conceptualize and develop new product prototypes.

  New Product formulation: Formulate new products to match the ingredient statement, nutritional profile and product attributes of the target product. Optimize products through various sensory testing protocols. Develop, test, and document the process for the full-scale manufacture of the new product.

  Conduct plant trials and new product start-ups independently.

  Develop technical project timelines that ensure business needs are met, with input from management, marketing and the R&D Manager.

  Develop finished product and processing specifications.

  Work cross-functionally, for example, with Procurement to source ingredients required for new product commercialization and Operations to implement product & process specifications.

  BS in Food Science or related field required. MS preferred.

  Minimum 3 years relevant experience.

  Experience in Product Development for a Food Company required.

  Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  Proficient in Microsoft Office Products. Prior SAP experience preferred.

  May travel up to 40% of time. Must be able to travel independently and as a responsible ConAgra Foods, Inc. representative.
