Safety and Sanitation Specialist - Sendik's Food Market – Milwaukee, WI

Sendik's Food Market is a family owned, multi-location, grocery business seeking a Safety and Sanitation Specialist to join their Corporate Office team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct store safety and sanitation audits, surveys, and inspections

• Investigate accidents and injuries

• Manage workers compensation claims, while serving as a liaison between the

company, insurance carrier, physicians, and employees

• Identify trends/risk areas and provide recommendations for improved

procedures

• Assist in developing safety and sanitation training for all levels of the organization

• Assist in carrying out recall procedures

• Assist with general store compliance issues (EEOC, Weights and Measures, COOL)

• Conduct safety and sanitation meetings

• Assist with all safety related paperwork (301, 301(A), Accident Reports, etc.)

• Assist with all sanitation related paperwork (temperature logs, store reports,

HACCP, etc.)

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of safety and sanitation related job experience

• ServSafe Certified Preferred

• Prior involvement in OSHA safety inspections, accident investigations, and

knowledge of state and federal safety codes

• Knowledge of Wisconsin Food Code, Country of Origin Labeling (COOL), Weights

and Measures, and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)

• Proficient with Windows operating systems

• Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills

• Ability to travel between the Corporate Office and all 10 Sendik's locations
