Application Technologist - Food
Protection – Kansas

We are looking for an Application
Technologist who is able to take on challenging and innovative projects
involving antimicrobials and antioxidants. Responsible for carrying out
application projects involving Danisco's extensive
line of food protection solutions used in culinary, dairy, meats, bakery,
beverage, and other related products. This would include utilizing the
analytical, microbiology, and sensory laboratories for evaluations, testing
and performing analytical procedures. Effectively manage internal and
external projects from experimental design to completion. Assist in
troubleshooting and educating internal and external customers. Leverage
professional skills to collaborate with sales and business management in driving
growth of the business.
We are looking for someone to perform
experimental activities in a laboratory setting, including sourcing
required products, reagents, and materials. The incumbent must have the
ability to analyze data from a wide array of assays and communicate results
internally and externally. Maintenance of appropriate documentation for
experiments through laboratory notebooks and active use of all Danisco computer systems will be required. Assist
customers by participating in in-house or technical visits, answering
technical questions, and conducting seminars and presentations as needed.
The ability to work in cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and provide
solutions to meet the needs of internal and external customers is required.
The candidate must have the ability to handle and prioritize multiply
projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
You are a four year college
graduate with a Food Science or Food Microbiology degree or related field
of study, Masters preferred. The ability to work independently while
participating in a team environment is an integral part of this position.

• Authorized to work in the United States of America

• Adherence to all management systems including, ISO
9001:2000, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 and Food Safety, with an understanding
of Danisco's Quality and Environmental Policies
and procedures.

• This position will operate in a laboratory and office
environment with up to 80% of the time in the laboratory. Some travel to
select customer sites/ training will be asked of the associate up to
approximately 20% of job time.
