MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a natural science (includes biological sciences, agricultural and natural resources and physical sciences); or

A bachelorís degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of professional field experience in food sanitation or quality control or food regulatory inspection, food establishment management or operations; or

A masterís degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a natural science (includes biological sciences, agricultural and natural resources and physical sciences).

Work experience as described above may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

An associateís degree from an accredited college can substitute for two (2) years of the required years of experience.

Requires possession of a valid Class "E" Driver License.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

This positionís headquarters is negotiable within Palm Beach County.

Employees appointed to positions involved in food establishment inspections under authority of Chapter 500, Florida Statutes, must take and pass the Food and Drug Administration Standardization Program as implemented by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services before attaining permanent status in the class.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

This positionís duties include conducting regulatory and sanitation inspections of food and food establishments for compliance with sanitation and consumer protection requirements.
