Position: Assistant Professor (nine-month, tenure-track) in the Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences, College of Health Sciences, at Texas Woman's University, Denton, Texas.

Qualifications: An earned doctorate in Nutrition or related field. Teaching and research experience preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in nutrition and graduate courses in his/her area of expertise, advise undergraduate and graduate students, establish a research program and direct student research in his/her area of expertise, and participate in department, college, and university committees.

Salary: Salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience. Support for teaching and research during the summer months may also be available.

The Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences is interested in applicants with the desire for teaching and research in a growing department. The department offers an undergraduate Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) and a combined Master's/dietetic internship, both accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of the American Dietetic Association. The Department offers a variety of Master of Science degrees and a doctoral degree in Nutrition with areas of specialization that may include an emphasis in Food Science or Food Systems Administration. Texas Woman's University (TWU) is a Doctoral/Research Intensive public university accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. As a teaching and research institution, TWU emphasizes the liberal arts as well as specialized and/or professional studies. TWU has three campuses. The main campus is located on 270 acres in Denton. Denton has a population of over 100,000 and is located 35 miles north of the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex and is home of two major universities. The other campuses include the TWU Health Science Centers in Dallas and Houston that offer upper-level and graduate studies in nursing and allied health professions.
