Quality Assurance Manager - Bakery

SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for maintaining product safety and quality while assuring the company meets regulatory standards.He/she implements the companyís continuous quality improvement program including process quality control.†††

 Detailed Description

         Ensures product safety, regulatory compliance, and compliance with company standards as stated in the Quality Assurance Manual.

         Supervises and/or performs on site lab testing and evaluates outside lab results.

         Maintains HACCP program and ensures plant compliance

         Maintains Quality Program and ensures compliance including environmental, sanitation, and products quality controls.

         Provides training and resources for plant personnel in quality and food safety practices.

         Maintains on site laboratory.

         Reviews product labels to ensure regulatory compliance and accuracy.

         Maintains raw material specifications, ingredient testing program, and qualifies vendors.

         Takes corrective action to resolve all quality issues.

         Maintains all quality related documentation.

         Ensures adherence to contract packaging quality requirements.

 

Qualifications include:

         Excellent communication and organizational skills

         Excellent computer skills

         Familiarity with Good Manufacturing practices, Kosher, GFCO, Non-GMO, and BRC certifications preferred

         Familiarity with sanitation systems and procedures

         Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish desirable

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelorís Degree in a Food Science related discipline preferred or associates degree with relevant work experience.3+ years experience in QA Management in a food environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
