Job Description

Position Title: Hold Administrator

Reports To: Site R&D Manager

Purpose of Role:

The Hold Management Senior Operator is responsible for managing the finished goods hold process at the plant level and within the business segment to ensure consumer satisfaction, product traceability and food safety. This associate will also be responsible for charting and reporting trends of non-conforming product. This position requires working closely with Supply, Operations, Logistics and R&D associates to identify opportunities and implement solutions to improve product quality, process efficiency, and to ensure traceability and effectiveness of hold procedures.

Principal Accountabilities

·         Manage non-conforming product inventory & traceability

·         Manage co-pack product traceability

·         Perform VLM and SAP transactions to assure non-conforming product inventory management

·         Key user of Atlas outbound and inbound system

·         Ensure timely and effective communication with distribution centers regarding finished goods

·         Effectively maintains documentation and ensures that the documentation is readily retrievable, manages data entry, and Atlas outbound and report generation.

·         Ensure timely disposition of hold product (sampling, destruction, release, donation)

·         Drive continuous improvement in Quality systems (Hold Management, ISO, and WinSPC)

·         Develop and deliver training on Hold Management and traceability programs and best practices

·         Manage ISO documents for Hold Management (define and update documents needed for ISO)

·         Work with others to improve processes and systems through innovation, effective change control, research, and auditing

·         Maintain inventory of MLP code date stamps according to the corporate code date calendar

·         Conduct annual site trace and retrieval exercise

·         Conduct internal ISO audits

Key Functional Skills/Knowledge

·         Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral), with the ability to influence, and motivate.

· Strong knowledge of ISO

· Good knowledge of WinSPC

· Excellent understanding of outbound product related procedures

· Strong knowledge of Atlas outbound and inbound system

· Knowledge of VLM system

· Ability to work independently as well as within a team setting

· Strong knowledge of Food Safety (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practices

· Strong computer skills. Demonstrated proficiency of computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, power point, graphics, access, etc.

· Proven application of basic hold management and/or quality tools

· Ability and aptitude to work in an R&D, Manufacturing and/or Distribution environment.

· Ability to work in an R&D, Manufacturing, and/or Distribution environment.

· Good interpersonal, teamwork and troubleshooting skills

· Good understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point Systems (HACCP), ISO, Regulatory Guidelines

Key Experiences

·         Understanding of Food Safety

·         Understanding of site’s inbound and outbound logistics


Minimum Qualifications

·         High School Diploma or equivalent required.

·         1-2 years in Manufacturing Industry

Preferred Qualifications

·         Bachelors Degree in Food Science or related

·         1-2 years Quality experience in Food Manufacturer
