DUTIES: •Independently and with Marketing creates, develops, and evaluates
new products. •Improves existing processes and products with lower cost
ingredients and formulas. •Independently and with Engineering designs,
implements and supervises new parameters and processes for new products.
•Works independently with co manufacturers in the development of new
products and processes. •Updates knowledge and developing technologies
through professional seminars, conferences, literature, and research.
•Monitors evaluation of ingredients through laboratory tests and plant
trials for new and existing products. •Provides technical support to
Manufacturing to monitor and/or direct new and/or existing products and
processes. •Develops process documents, data sheets, formulas and standards
in the form of critical control points for the new manufacturing processes.
•Other duties as assigned.
•BS in Chemistry, Food Science, or Food Technology. •Prefer experience in
the confections industry (soft candy). •Prefer experience working with
chocolate. •Ability to travel domestically and internationally 25% of the
time. •Confectionary Technology experience preferred. •Experience in Third
Party Auditing. •Fluency in Spanish is a plus. •Effective organizational
and planning skills. •Good interpersonal and people management skills.
•Proficient in computer usage.
