EMSL
Analytical, Inc. is seeking an Environmental/ Food Laboratory
Technician for its Raleigh, NC location.
This is
suitable for candidates with beginning levels of experience, to those
with some level of experience. The environment is very busy with multiple
tasks going on at the same time and requires a great deal of
multi-tasking. The job requires a good attention to detail,
patience and ability to sit stationary for long periods of
time. These positions are designed to support the laboratory in
multiple areas.
* Position will be responsible for food microbiology laboratory sample
preparation Including but not limited to :
* Cross
training in other lab disciplines as needed to meet business demands.
* Media
preparation
* Sample set up
* Sample preparation and pH adjustments
*
General clerical duties such as answering phones, invoicing, mailing,
filing, faxing, copying.
*
Laboratory organization, supply inventory, calibrations, cleaning and
maintenance of lab equipment.
Requirements:
*Associates
Degree or Some College preferably in Science discipline:
*1-2 years of previous academic or commercial lab experience is desired
* Experience with aseptic technique, food microbiology or microbiology
lab a plus
* Must
be able to work independently and with a team.
* Must
be able to work in a fast-paced setting, multi-task, and prioritize
assignments.
* Must be willing to cross train in other disciplines a must (Lead,
Asbestos, Environmental Microbiology)
* Must
have good communication, computer, typing, and organizational skills.
Hours:
Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM extra hours and
weekend rotating schedule may be required to meet business demands
