In this position you will lead a team of scientists and
technicians in solving a variety of intriguing challenges in diverse
applications -- from beverages to ice cream to convenience foods -- and work
directly with the world's leading food manufacturers. We are looking for a
senior scientist to take on a "player/coach" role and guide our
Technical Services Request team in responding to customer requests as well as
in developing broad-based applications to bring to market. In fact, you'll
participate in newly implemented systems and processes to facilitate great
ideas. Your success in this role could set you up to pursue promotional
opportunities in our organization.
To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have a bachelor's degree in
Food Science or other relevant applied science and five to ten years of
experience working for food specialty ingredients suppliers. You'll need
experience working with food ingredients (preferably hydrocolloids and cellulosics) and providing product and applications
development and technical services to a commercial customer base. We're
looking for a professional with demonstrated experience organizing, planning,
and executing development projects with a 12 to 18 month timeframe and
project funnel up to $10M. In addition you will need experience coaching,
developing, and supervising technicians and bachelor level food scientists.
