Quality & Food Safety Supervisor
C.J.Foods, Inc - Pawnee City, NE


Now accepting applications for the position of Quality and Food Safety Supervisor at C.J. Foods, Inc., located in Bern, Kansas. Duties will include:

  • Overseeing a laboratory administering quality control and quality assurance programs and testing, and ordering equipment and supplies needed for the laboratory.
  • Technical ability to operate laboratory equipment NIR, Leco, Aw meter, Computrac moisture analyzer, calipers, mycotoxin test equipment, pH meter, laboratory weigh scales, vacuum chamber for seal checks (PC), thermometers and other equipment as added.
  • Coordinating and prioritizing laboratory activity in support of routine testing, product release, and process non-conformance, serving as a technical expert and approval authority on relevant technical issues, protocols, SOPís, SSOPís, GMPís, and methods
  • Tracking, reporting and improving key quality indicators for laboratory compliance and efficiency
  • Serving as the contact for regulatory groups, nonconforming product, scientific issues, and audits and performing all other related duties as assigned by management
  • Develops or approves recommendations to change systems policies and procedures; ensures timely and accurate implementation
  • Participates in, or leads department and interdepartmental planning and management teams and works cross-functionally to improve
  • Supervising the performance review and work scheduling of all personnel engaged in quality control/assurance and providing training and development where needed
  • Hiring, training, and scheduling employees

B.A. or B.S. degree in chemistry, engineering, or related science;
Minimum of three years in human food manufacturing facility, required; pet food manufacturing preferred;
Minimum of three years of experience in Quality, Supply Chain, R&D, or related technical experience;
Minimum of two years of experience in supervising, training, hiring, and developing of personnel;
Minimum of two years of experience in leading Quality Systems at a manufacturing site, contractor, or supplier;
Ability to build and lead effective teams to solve problems, make decisions, and take action within the organization;
Solid analytical skills;
Advanced technical knowledge, communication, and interpersonal skills.
