R&D Associate Scientist - Taste Technology

Location: Valhalla, NY, USA

Executes experiments in the area of Taste Technology to deliver break through technical insights for enabling optimized sweet taste experiences across the beverage and food portfolio. Sets up sensory and chemical experiments Candidate will work with internal resources, long term research and business partners to deliver significant business impact.

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Executes sensory and chemical experiments



         Executes experiments according to written protocol


         Works safely and with respect to others


         Sets experiments, acquire results, compile and document with minimal supervision



2. Captures accurate data



         Works diligently to capture accurate data in notebook and documentation system


         Interprets and graphs analytical data from the analytical group and presents insights from results to supervisors



3. Critical Thinking



         Identifies ways to improve protocols and communicate ideas clearly with supervisors


         Identifies outlier results and brings them to the attention of supervisors



4. Works in team



         Prioritize work with other team members


         Helps other team members be successful

Critical Competencies



         Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)


         Excellent technical writing skills


         Excellent data management, lab notebook maintenance and organizational skills


         Technical background in food chemistry.


         Good understanding of analytical chemistry


         Effective team player






         B.S. in Chemistry, Food Science or a related field with 2+ year experience in basic laboratory skills.


         Knowledge of sensory and analytical chemistry is a plus.


         Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills demonstrated by the ability to positively influence others.


         Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and multi-task.
