Job Description

We are seeking an business development manager for our customer management group to grow sales of food safety and risk management and associated services to existing and new key accounts in the agricultural, organic and fresh produce industry.


Principal Accoutabilities:

 

  • Achieve assigned sales budget.
  • Create, communicate and execute account sales plans for assigned accounts.
  • Manage and coordinate relationships with all buying influences at each key account to ensure successful close of single sales objective(s).
  • Negotiate sales agreements to meet or exceed sales and gross margin objectives of respective business unit(s).
  • Lead, plan and coordinate all account-focused activities for assigned accounts.
  • Establish sustainable relationships between NSF and assigned accounts.
  • Seek and identify opportunities for cross selling at assigned accounts and manage NSF International's response.
  • Maintain current database of all assigned customers for timely, clear and concise understanding by NSF management.
  • Support and participate in NSF's presence at industry tradeshows and conferences when appropriate.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers and others with ongoing customer relationships to oversee and ensure resolution of customer issues.



Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in food science or related field.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of successful sales experience in fresh produce, agriculture or food related industry.
  • Demonstrated skills in key account planning and sales.
  • Established relationships in fresh produce, agriculture or food related industry.
  • NSF's service offerings are comprehensive and sophisticated, requiring the individual to possess a strong technical aptitude.
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentations skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work at all levels and across all functions of a customer's organization.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices.
  • Ability to work remotely in Monteray, CA area.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Bi-lingual - Spanish.
  • Six (6) years of sales and/or commercial experience in produce, agriculture or food related industry.
  • Quality assurance, R&D or comparable experience in produce, agriculture or food related industry.
