Job Description
Provide
food safety audit services and technical food safety consulting for the
produce industry. Ideal
candidates would live in the Southeast: Florida, Georgia or South Carolina
area.
*Candidates
must be able to travel extensively = up to 75% of the time*
- Conduct food safety and quality
evaluations, including pesticide and/or microbial sampling and risk
assessments.
- Provide representation,
complete projects and execute signed agreements with NSF Davis Fresh
clients such as domestic and international supermarkets, food service
companies, fresh-cut processors, import/export companies
growers/shippers and governmental agencies.
- Provide a timely response to
customer inquiries, complaints and concerns.
- Develop cost effective work
plans for the completion of assigned audits including administrative
responsibilities (reports, assessments, sampling, travel).
- Communicate with current and
potential clients, and NSF Davis Fresh personnel regarding
identification of additional NSF services that may be beneficial
(examples â?? new products for certification, test only services,
quality system registration).
- Monitor and report client
needs, agreement issues, and competitive threats to management team.
- Establish and maintain
effective communication with program representatives and project managers
as it relates to assigned clients while maintaining strong professional
and interpersonal relations with NSF Davis Fresh clients, service
companies, growers/shippers, and government officials.
- Perform other duties as
requested.
REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelorâ??s
degree in food, agriculture, biology or other related scientific field.
- A minimum of two (2) years
experience with retail or field level food safety inspections / audits.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills
(written and verbal). Ability to convey information in a concise,
accurate and understandable manner.
- Willingness and ability to
travel extensively; up to 75% travel may be necessary.
- Excellent computer skills
including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Display willingness to
cooperate with others by providing timely, relevant and accurate
information or assistance as requested.
- Ability to adjust to new and
changing environments, priorities and/or ideas. Demonstrate
flexibility and willingness to accept additional responsibilities.
- Demonstrate the ability to
identify areas of need/analyze problems, develop effective solutions and
take action without immediate direction.
- Display professionalism and set
positive example for others.
PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masterâ??s
degree in food, agriculture, microbiology or other scientific field.
- Training in GAP, GMP, HACCP and
other industry related standards.
- Language skills (Spanish).
PHYSICAL
DEMANDS:
- Required frequent overnight
travel.
- Required to stand or walk for
long periods of time.
- Required to work outdoors and
in cold room environments.
- Required to operate a motor
vehicle.
- Extensive use of computers and
other electronic equipment.
- Moderate to heavy physical
effort required (ability to carry equipment weighing 25 lbs or more).
- Ability to follow client and
regulatory required safety practices.
WORK
ENVIRONMENT:
- Majority of work takes place at
client locations within the produce food safety industry.
- Majority of time is spent
working independently from a remote location.

postal mail please.
