Cargill Value Added Meats Retail facilities utilize state-of-the-art beef, pork and turkey processing capabilities to deliver high-quality meat products to our partners. Cargill Value Added Meats Retail has an opening for Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory (FSQR) Supervisor located in the Springdale, AR facility. This position is responsible for managing all micro sampling and lab results for the Springdale processing plant. Candidate will supervise 1 lab technicians and 2 plant sample technicians. The Supervisor will be the main point of contact on 2nd shift for the two third party laboratories and the third party HPP facility. Candidate will be responsible for communicating product releases and releasing product in the computerized inventory system when on intensified test and hold. The supervisor will be responsible for verifying that HPP inventory reconciliations are acceptable and performing HACCP pre-shipment verifications for products sent to the third party HPP facility. This person will also fill in for the Technical Services Supervisor or Superintendent as needed.

Principle Accountabilities:

40% - Enter in sample information and results from the outside lab.

30% - Supervise 1 lab technician and 2 plant sample technicians.

10% - Release product in WCS when on test and hold. Communicate with outside labs and HPP facility.

10% - Verify HPP inventory reconciliations are acceptable and perform HACCP pre-shipment verification on HPP products.

10% - Insure sample submission forms are completed accurately and sent to the outside labs. Insure samples are packed and transported to the outside labs daily.



·         Bachelor’s degree (preferably in microbiology, biology, or other related field)

·         1 year experience in a meat processing plant or related field

·         Microsoft Excel

·         Good communication skills

·         Good organization and attention to detail is absolutely essential for this position


·         Supervisory experience

·         Microbiological or chemistry lab experience

·         Ascetic sample collection technique
