As a result of growth and significant future market opportunity, Mintel is looking for naturally curious individuals to join its reports research team in a role designed to support development into an Analyst role.

The Junior Analyst supplements reports with fresh and relevant news articles on a daily basis, keeping reports continually updated and as such, more valuable to our client subscribers. The Junior Analyst supports Report Analysts by conducting desk research and writing report sections based on the analysis of consumer and market data, primarily for food and drink.

Mintel seeks an individual who is adapt at assimilating information from hundreds of press sources, who can then accurately summarize these stories, and incorporate the significant points into news documents to be published on Mintels Oxygen website.

Ideal candidates will have exceptional writing and editing skills, and can demonstrate their ability to analyze market and consumer data to provide insight. Attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and good communication skills are a must. It is recommended that prospective Junior Analyst has knowledge of marketing research, a passion for consumer markets, and a background in food and drink.

In addition to the above, responsibilities and required qualifications are listed below:


  • Comb through a variety of news sources identifying valid items that complement and support Mintel Reports
  • Communicate effectively within the Reports team, ensuring coverage and sharing relevant information
  • Tagging news items to relevant reports
  • Assist in producing portions of syndicated reports that include consumer and market research and perspective
  • Work collaboratively with Junior Analyst team and Report Analysts

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelors degree (Food or food science, or Liberal Arts such as English, Journalism, Marketing, Sociology, are preferred)
  • Total attention to quality work; ability to work on deadline and manage shifting priorities
  • Exceptional communication skills, written and oral; editing skills a must
  • Research and writing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • 1-2 years of experience in a professional workplace is a plus
  • Food industry related experience is a plus
