Food Scientist Southeastern Iowa Company is looking for a freelance consultant Food Scientist located in the St. Louis area to help us develop products and support our company's business objectives. We are a custom blender with extensive unique product lines for the dairy and bakery industries. Responsibilities may include: - Plan and execute the development of new product formulations - Develop or improve starch and gum based dairy related product mixes - Contribute to development projects from concept through commercialization Requirements: - BS in Food Science, Cereal Science, Dairy Science or related field - Dairy related product development experience - Extensive knowledge of ingredient functionality and food chemistry - Skill in developing and commercializing new products - Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to accomplish project goals. Position requires some travel to headquarters in Southeast Iowa. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, access to a food lab or well equipped home facility.
