Job Description ' FOOD TECHNOLOGIST, Strategy and Innovation Team

Work with minor supervision to develop new retail food concepts and products for Nestle Prepared Food Co. to meet the needs of consumers and the business. Optimize product quality via improvements in product formulation, ingredients, and processing strategies.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop new product concepts/prototypes to support all brands for Nestle Prepared Foods.
' Recognizes potential opportunities and builds prototypes accordingly
' Creates and evaluates multiple alternatives
' Works at bench level through full-scale manufacturing
' Understands the consumer experience and finds ways to improve it
' Evaluate potential new suppliers
' Evaluate alternate processing methodologies for improvements in products, efficiencies, yields and product quality
' Work closely with Operations, Purchasing, R&D, Marketing, Marketing Intelligence, Culinary, Project Management and Finance in a team environment to develop and launch new product platforms
'Develop solutions to a wide range of formula, processing, efficiency problems

Minimum of BS degree in Food Science or equivalent science degree is required.
Position requires up to 15% travel on an annual basis.

EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years experience in product development
-Previous experience in the scale up of products from concept through manufacturing

' Requires a high degree of integrity, maturity and honesty.
' Knowledge of ingredient functionality
' Knowledge of frozen food processing and microwavable foods is a plus
' Understanding of sensory testing and statistics is a plus
' Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments.
' Working understanding of financial costing analysis methodology and strategy
