Bunge is seeking the talent of an Ingredient Developer/Food Scientist to be based in Bradley, IL.

Overview: The ingredient developer/food scientist is responsible for developing new food ingredients from concept to commercialization in support of company growth objectives. The primary responsibility will be to apply food science and bench top developmental skills through innovation and project leadership, in support of various projects assigned. This position will be based in Bradley, IL R&D center which houses the milling extrusion plant. This person will also work with our two eastern Corn Belt plants in Kankakee and Danville, IL.

Essential Functions: • Apply food science and food developmental skills to assigned work • Able to set up and operate extrusion pilot plant-mixers, extruder, cutters, drier, fryer, coating drum, feeders • Develop specifications, formulas, and nutritional labeling for new ingredients • Support eastern corn mills on various innovation projects • Support eastern corn mills on yield & process improvements • Effectively design, coordinate and execute pilot plant and eastern plant trails • Evaluates processes and procedures. • Provide suggestions for changes in process, procedures and test alternatives • Able to effectively communicate with internal/external customer base • Coordinate resources across multiple projects • Present project status and results to management on a regular basis • Ensure projects are completed within the stated time and budget • Document project deliverables, track status, and maintain project files

Skill/Experience Requirements: • M.S. Food Science preferred • Minimum five years experience in food product development • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization • Demonstrated project design and management skills • Demonstrated problem solving and strategic thinking skills • Experience in utilizing basic food science, food process, and food nutrition knowledge to plan, conduct, and record experiments. • Results oriented with a strong customer focus • Must be able to construct a vision, think creatively to solve issues and be goal oriented
