Job Description :

The Food Safety Specialist has the primary responsibility of maintaining and assisting in implementation of the food safety systems of the plant. These systems include but are not limited to the plant’s HACCP, SSOP, and prerequisite programs to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements for the production of safe and wholesome food. The Food Safety Specialist will also maintain and develop tracking and trending of food safety programs related data to propagate a proactive approach to food safety.

Job Requirements :

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

·         Bachelor of Science degree

·         Three years experience in the meat industry

·         Good communications skills, both verbal and written

·         HACCP Certification

·         Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

·         Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills

·         Able to work independently with minimal supervision

·         Strong conflict resolution skills


BEHAVIORAL AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: 

·         Analytical Skills

·         Knowledge of statistical process controls

·         Technical knowledge of the meats and proteins

·         Ability to prioritize projects and set goals

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Career Level : Experienced (Non-Manager)

Education : Bachelor's Degree
