DESCRIPTION:   This company is a dynamic supplier to institutional, retail and governmental customers for pre-packaged foods. The company is stable and growing with multiple plant sites.   This company is has a strong reputation for quality and delivery of its product line.  They are seeking a key team player in a new position that will analyze all activities with the intent to improve productivity and reduce costs through engineered solutions. This position will be responsible for development of formulations and processes for new product development of ready-to-eat foods. This plant primarily uses thermal processing technology in packaging the RTE foods.

RESPONSIBILITIES:    The primary responsibility will be Development of New Food Products, Ensuring Product Vitality, and innovations in production. You will be involved with developing products and flavors including plant scale-ups and establishing manufacturing processes and procedures. You will focus on innovations and improvements to quality, product presentation and safety and sanitation. You will report to the R&D Manager. This position will be oriented toward developing planning and systems but may require hands on solutions including design and drawings to resolve a problem. You will exhibit good judgement, integrity, ingenuity, and personal professionalism.




REQUIREMENTS:  The company requires a minimum four-year BS Food Science degree. ( MS Food Science is preferred).  Minimum 5 years related experience in food processing operations. Qualified candidates will have a strong technical background in processing and preparations of food products. Experience with cost improvement, processing systems, plant lay out and cost control is required. Candidates must be self-motivated with very strong documented management experience. Excellent communication skills and the ability to gain the cooperation and confidence of others are required.  The ability to think on your feet and rapidly adjust to changing priorities is necessary.   Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire confidence and trust are essential. Strong documentation skills and reporting skills are required. Food experience with pouching and retorts is mandatory. Please do not apply if you do not have food industry experience.
