Food Safety Auditing Program
Cooperative Agricultural Support Services (CASS) is a Joint Powers Authority
that provides efficient and cost effective support for activities carried out
by the California Department of Food and Agriculture and county agricultural

Duties for the job are performed inside or outside of buildings. Weather,
temperature, lighting and noise levels may constantly vary. Terrain may vary
from smooth to stable to irregular and unstable. The incumbent may regularly
work with or around machinery or motorized equipment, work in a noisy
environment and be exposed to dust, pollen, moisture and temperature
extremes. Driving a vehicle, as well as entering and exiting the vehicle
numerous times throughout the workday, is generally required.
Preferred education for this position is a Bachelor's Degree in Food Safety,
Biology, Agriculture or Chemistry (experience performing Food Safety
Audits/Inspections may substitute on a year for year basis). Preferred
experience includes 4 years of progressive responsibility in Food Safety
Auditing. The incumbent in this position must be able to establish and
maintain effective workng relationships with
industry; work well under pressure; work collaboratively with other staff
members in completing designated work while meeting required deadlines and
have normal color vision.
The incumbent in this position will be required, with or without reasonable accomodation, to stand and walk constantly, lift up to 20
pounds on a very frequent basis and up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis;
use repetitive arm and wrist motions; bend, stoop, twist, reach; and,
maintain visual acuity along with possessing normal color vision.
