This position is for an experienced technical Developer leading platform development within the NA Biscuit Innovation group. The candidate will be responsible for the development, optimization, and commercialization of new snack products related to the Biscuit category. They will need to translate concepts into products that not only meet the business needs and consumer hurdles, but can also be commercialized.

The Candidate must be able to lead the designing, planning and execution of experiments for bench top, pilot plant and plant trials. They must also develop and manage project plans and timelines insuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget. Candidates must have strong technical and project management skills, excellent decision quality, and effective communication skills. Conduct appropriate testing, gather and analyze data and develop recommendations and robust action plans based on findings. While the candidate will be a member of a new products team, they will need to be able to work autonomously and serve as technical leader and collaborate with cross functional team members to identify and resolve technical issues and drive the development of their assigned projects.

The Candidate must possess a breadth of knowledge and experience in ingredient functionality, formulation, commercialization, and intellectual property. The individual must be able to write process specifications that deliver consistent, high-quality products across numerous manufacturing facilities and is able to support Quality and Manufacturing needs as it relates to their projects.

Responsibilities include:

·         Managing the technical work plan of one direct report. He or She must

·         Demonstrated leadership and assisting in building technical expertise in the organization.

·         Leading development and execution of innovation platform launches from bench prototyping to commercialization.

·         Leading pipeline scoping and technical assessment of future innovation projects and ideas.

·         Developing, updating and maintaining MERIDIAN product specification of assigned projects.

·          Help developing and/or technically assess IP strategy, FTO as it relates to projects.

Serve as an emerging technical leader, coach junior developers.


Qualifications

 

·         Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Chemistry or Chemical Engineering; Master Degree preferred.

·         Minimum 5 years’ experience working with proven track record of successful product launches, product and process development technology in the Food Industry.

·         Strong Food Science, Food Chemistry, and Process knowledge within the biscuit category.

·         Minimum of 5 years of product development experience is required preferably in the food industry.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·         Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of the organization.

·         Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization.

·          Ability to influence others and get results through working with a diverse team.

·          Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage complexity.

·         Executional excellence, personal leadership, time management and problem solving competencies.

·          Strong demonstration of living the values in leading by example.

·         Travel up to 40%.
