President Operations, Key Retailing
The Subject Matter Expert (Food Safety)
is responsible for the day-to-day management of solution development and
implementation to create awareness and training in the advancement of food
safety and product quality. Working as part of a Team, he/she will identify
opportunities, define process, develop communication and training materials
and guide Enterprise rollout of food safety and quality standards to
support all Key Retailing Solution Streams. This position will work closely
and coordinate with the Sr. Manager of Food Safety and Regulatory
Essential Job Functions
- Wave solutions involve
working with stores, divisions and administrative departments on
solutions which will create training and build awareness in food
safety and quality.
Linkage to Customer 1st Strategy
- Create enterprise standards
for food safety to insure that our products meet or exceed FDA
recommendations and product quality expectations for merchandising.
Person must have the highest understanding of food safety standards.
- Coordinate Corporate Food
Safety initiatives between general office and division to create a
unified food safety and quality environment which supports Key
Retailing solution streams
- Have ability to compile and
analyze food safety audits and standards.
- Have ability to inspect and
measure store food safety standards
Food Safety & Foodservice Specific Skills
- Good understanding of
- Knowledgeable about
sanitation principles, sanitation chemicals, and equipment sanitary
- Sound understanding of retail
and foodservice processes and operations, particularly perishable
- Competent in
retail/foodservice HACCP programs and GRP’s.
- Ability to provide leadership
and direction to key stakeholders regarding core food safety concepts,
the incorporation food safety principles into Key
Retailing Wave department.
- Strong skills in training and
communication, and the ability to relate technical concepts to

merchandising depts. at both a corporate and division level.

with division food safety specialists/managers to insure enterprise

relationships with Corporate Food Technology, retail operations,
shrink, and merchandising.

Minimum Position Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food
Science, or related field
- 3 to 5 years of retail or
- Conversant in the FDA Code
and appropriate State/Local Health Regulations.
- Certified Food Safety
Professional, or equivalent credential.
- Travel up to 30%, some of
which may be on short notice and weekends.
Desired Previous Job Experience:
- Previous Management
experience in retail food safety and quality.
- Experience with project
- Experience in a leadership
role with direct reports.
- Proficient in Microsoft
Office applications, and presentation development.
