Summary:

·         Is creative and responsible for product and process development and improvement activities for assigned project

·         Provides technical expertise

·         Reports to the Manager Research & Development

 

Responsibilities:

·         Provides technical expertise in developing and executing multiple projects work

·         Provides technical expertise for assigned project/product work team

·         Provides financial information, estimates, and assist in managing budget

·         May supervise temps, interns, technicians and technologists

 

Essential functions:

·         Provides technical expertise for assigned projects/areas of technology

·         communicates technical progress cross- functionally

·         Stays current with new science and technology and apply internally

·         Creates and maintains specifications, formulations, processes, and testing procedures

·         Understands product cost drivers and opportunities for improvements

·         Has good understanding of plant and pilot plant processes and process controls

·         Plans, organizes and leads experiments in the laboratory and the pilot plant as well as plant trials and provides recommendations and specifications

·         Records, compiles and analyzes test results and write report

·         Understands project management and plans projects, develops timetables and provides interim status reports

 

Qualifications:                                 

  • Bachelor, Master, or Ph. D degree in Food Science, Food Process Engineering or relevant field with 3-10 years of food industry experience

·         Knowledge of food: rheology, composition, analysis, processes, regulations and applied mathematics
