Robert E. Koeritzer, MBA

Robert Koeritzer is Technical Manager in the Diagnostics Laboratory for
3M Company's Medical Division. Robert leads a team of research and product
development scientists with expertise in microbiology, molecular biology
and biochemistry. The Diagnostics Laboratory develops technology and products
for current and emerging pathogens.
Mr. Koeritzer has over 20 years
of experience in microbiology, quality systems, analytical sciences and
technical services. Robert became interested in applied microbiology while
working at the University of Wisconsin Veterinary Hospital and United
States Department of Agriculture Dairy Forage Research Center. His career
began at Land O'Lakes Inc., a dairy food and agriculture company, where
he was Microbiologist, Supervisor and later Laboratory Manager for the
analytical laboratory in the Corporate Research, Technology and Engineering
Division. After 13 years at Land O'Lakes, Robert joined 3M Microbiology
in 2000 as a Technical Service/Regulatory Manager, supporting product/method
development and global sales of 3M¢â Petrifilm¢â Plate products.
Robert Koeritzer was President
of AOAC International in 2006-2007. He now serves as Immediate Past-President
(2007-2008). Robert has also served as President-Elect (2005-2006), Secretary-Treasurer
(2004 -2005) and Director-at-Large (2002-2004). Robert began his volunteer
work at AOAC as a Study Director and Collaborator for several rapid microbiology
methods. In 2001, he was appointed Chair of the Blue Ribbon Panel on Proprietary
Methods, where he acted as spokesperson for the Organizational Affiliates
and test kit manufacturers. He has also served on the AOAC Research Institute
Advisory Board, Nominating Committee and most recently as Co-Chair of
the Best Practices in Microbiological Methods Task Force (a worldwide
group of experts defining microbiological method validation).
Robert is a graduate of the
University of Wisconsin-Madison, B.S. Bacteriology, (Medical Microbiology),
and received his Masters of Business Administration, (International Management),
from the University of St. Thomas.
