Wellington Group has been engaged to find an experienced Food Scientist to
direct programs for the development of enhancement of new and existing

Responsibilities
include:
·
Provide technical expertise on foods and functional food
interactions with packaging materials and define up front packaging
performance criteria
·
Use food science expertise, QA/QC, microbiology, and market
knowledge to support new and existing packaging products to customers
·
Provide insight on micro-biological risk within Operations,
QA, NPD, and customers
·
Extensive knowledge of product and production testing
protocols, expertise in microbiology, and reporting results to the
appropriate departments
·
Recommend new projects and actively assign timelines
·
Passion for cutting edge technologies and packaging markets,
regulations and trends
·
Provide technical assistance to optimize and enable existing
manufacturing processes
·
Use of Stage Gate processes
·
Be able to communicate current technology developments in the
food industry, packaging, and microbiology to non-technical individuals
The
qualified candidate will have:
·
Ph.D. in Food Science with extensive microbiological expertise
or PhD in Microbiology with extensive knowledge of Food Science and
technology or related discipline is a must
·
10-15 years industrial experience in foods with a background
in microbiology
·
Strong technical background in a wide range of food
application areas such as dairy, beverage, bakery, ready meal, sauces,
spreads, dressings, etc.
·
Proven track record of innovation from concept to
commercialization of foods, niche functional food products, or packaging
for foods
·
Self-starter with ability to take a role as a technology
project manager in NPD with proven experience managing and planning
multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion in a
fast-paced environment
·
Provide regulatory guidance on product manufacturing and
labeling
·
Collaborate effectively across different business units and
functional areas
·
Available to travel up to 15% domestic and international
·
Outstanding knowledge of and experience in foods, processing,
characterization, and regulations
·
Demonstrated ability to effectively deliver packaging projects
from inception to completion according to established guidelines and
timelines
