ROLE DEFINITION: Global Category Leader Consumer Science
1.Scope
At Kraft, we work together to make everyday
delicious. You will contribute to this by being responsible for
directing all Consumer Science efforts for the Global Category of Gum
& Candy. The job holder will be responsible for multiple programs
that deliver against broadly defined category or functional objectives.
The job holder must demonstrate strong leadership and management
skills. The job holder will be expected to build in-depth product and
commercial knowledge in order to enhance the value they bring to the
business.
2.Key Responsibilities
- Lead
consumer science programs ensuring delivery to required standards,
timescales and contributing to decision making. This role will
include a strong element of change management.
- Ensure a
positive Consumer Science team environment.
- Partner
with regional and global RD&Q / Marketing leaders as required
driving consumer science discipline further into the organization.
- Identifies
and initiates new research programs.
- Develop
yearly budgets and estimate and assign human and financial
resources against yearly operating and long range plans.
- Conduct
strategic business updates with RD&Q and Marketing leaders to
ensure growth targets are being realized.
- Develop
and Approve recommendations for Consumer Science program and process
improvements including strategic growth opportunities.
- Maintain
open and honest communication with direct and in-direct reports
and provide timely feedback and coaching.
- Engage
in two-way communication between yourself and Global Head of
Consumer Science.
- To
coach, mentor and develop managers and scientists, as appropriate.
- Ensures
meaningful colleague development plans are created and
implemented.
- Champion
Health & Safety and quality strategies applicable for the
organization.
The role will be based at our research facility in
Whippany NJ. Some travel is required and this may be global.
You will be required to be flexible in terms of your hours
and duties.
Qualifications
In order to succeed in this role, it is expected that you
will have:
- Educated
to at least bachelors level in food science/technology and or a
related discipline (e.g. psychology, statistics, consumer
science).
- Minimum
of 17+ years
experience (10+ years of management) in consumer science
with emphasis in food or confectionary preferred.
- Relevant
training/work experience in sensory/consumer research as a core
element of the role, including the application of statistical
analysis.
- Proven
track record of experience in the application of sensory and
consumer research in a FMCG client-side commercial environment.
- Proven
experience in line-management and the ability to lead, coach and mentor others.
- Proven
experience of partnering with client/stakeholders as individuals
and teams, as a strong element of this role will be the ability to
build and maintain relationships.
- Ability
to present a clear position and purpose and can take a firm
position on controversial topics.
- Seeks
insights from key internal/external stakeholders and partners.
- Ability
to utilize effective negotiation skills to resolve conflict and
gain alignment.
- Build
consensus and effectively impacts outcomes.
- Must
have excellent communication skills (verbal and written), good organisational development skills.
